Frequently Asked Questions

u

Which charger should I get?

We have various charging powers within this charger range. These chargers offer similar benefits with slight differences in style, brand and charging times. All of these chargers offer RFID and back-office compatibility. But when it comes to which one you should pick, there is no clear answer as it is entirely dependent on your business needs
u

What is DC charging?

DC charging is much faster than any AC charging method. DC or Direct current is the type of power that goes through your charger into the car. 7kW and 22kW chargers are AC or Alternating current, meaning they have to go through the onboard charger to be turned into DC, resulting in a slower charge. DC chargers don’t require AC conversion, so the power goes directly into the batteries.
u

How much can I get a charger in this range for?

Within this charging range there is a large variety of chargers. All with different charging speeds and capabilities. Because of this our chargers in this range cost from £9272.59 -£50,321.70. To find your perfect charger in this range check out our selection or drop us an email or call for guidance. Additional costs will apply to the installation and any enhancements made to the electricity supply infrastructure. (All prices quoted are subject to VAT).
u

Will I need to upgrade my power?

This question is dependent on your business’s current power usage. Some organisations can get away with one, maybe even two, of these chargers without needing upgrades. But if you need a larger amount or do not have sufficient power, we can help you by contacting a DNO to sort this out.
u

What is a three-phase power supply?

A three-phase power supply is simply an electric supply containing three single-phase wires. These three-phase supplies are not common in domestic builds but are the standard for commercial and industrial facilities, allowing more power to be drawn out in higher amounts. Without a three-phase power supply, you cannot have more than a 7kW EV charger.
u

Are there any other safety measures that need to be taken when installing the charger?

For electrical safety, it is recommended to have the charger installed by a qualified electrician. Additionally, it is advisable to ensure that the surrounding area is properly maintained, as well as to have a dedicated emergency stop switch installed.
